For this film 30 seconds of new animation had been added to refresh the film for 2020, however unfortunately the original assets were not available.
The brief was to invent 30s of music and sound design and seamlessly transition from the old soundtrack, a flat stereo file, into the new sequence, and back out again. This added some complexity due to the fact that the 30s duration was not dictated by the music, but by using some tricks of misdirection it was possible to pull off the cut and shut job successfully! It was important to closely match the style and sonic qualities of the inherited sound design and music, which had a low-fi, vintage feel, to represent the history and heritage of the brand.
